A Vancouver Bed and Breakfast? How about a Bed No Breakfast?
Relax. Unwind. Savour.

The Cherub Inn was built in 1913 as a family home by the then Assistant Building Inspector of the City of Vancouver, Mr. Joel S. Lee. Over the years, city archives show his occupation as Assistant Building Inspector, Carpenter, Millwright, Filer & Sawyer - an all-round tinkerer.

Once cars came into vogue, Joel invented a device to help his wife handle the long driveway. She would drive into the garage and park on a large turntable. Then, simply by pushing gently on a handle, she would walk the car 180° around, nose pointing toward the street, ready to drive out.

In the Seventies, this part of Vancouver, Kitsilano, was a popular area for hippies. Over the years, the main thoroughfares of West 4th and West Broadway have been transformed into exciting streets with both sophisticated and eclectic shops and a veritable range of dining establishments. Three of Vancouver's very top restaurants are within a few blocks of the Inn (Bishop's, Lumiere & Pastis). We have stores devoted to aromatherapy, fine home decor and gifts, Italian biscotti, handcrafted chocolates, mountaineering and outdoor clothing, metaphysical pursuits, travel accessories, classical music, upscale clothing, stationery, coffee houses galore and so much more.

It is the nicest neighbourhood close to downtown Vancouver, across just one very short bridge. Nature abounds; Kitsilano Beach, Jericho Beach, Pacific Rim Spirit Park and more. Enjoy picnics, stroll or play volleyball on the sandy shores of the Pacific Ocean. Or play tennis, try out rental rollerblades and cycle our bike paths. How about packing a basket of fresh goodies from Granville Island Market and renting a motor boat for an unforgettable afternoon exploring the inlets or nearby islands?

We'll be pleased to provide you with information about how to enjoy our city!
